Does your anti virus work?

Postby Arabian Knight » Wed Oct 11, 2006 10:35 pm

Use this very simple test to check whether your anti virus adds up to it's promise.

After you've run through the test, share with me what happened.

1. Did your anti virus pick it up?

2. What software are you using?

3. What version did you use?

4. Did you're anti virus detect it immediately after the save?

5. If not, try right clicking it, and select, SCAN FOR VIRUSES. Did it detect it now?

A screen shot would be nice too! (tutorial on how to take & post screenshots)

I used ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 6.5.737.000, and it picked it up without a problem. So let's put a check mark next to Zone Alarm!

dude mcafee sucks! uninstall it, restart your computer, and download AVG (on the downloads page)

that's strange.

how did you create the file?

I've uploaded it online so you can test it, www.knight47.com/test - I promise it's safe.

Download it, does it find it now? Make sure AVG is running in the background, if it's not, that's probably why it didn't find it.

Hm.. Maybe AVG dosn't do that, I will check later, because I don't have that installed on my laptop right now.
